Where does aerospace systems meet?
We try our best to meet in the same room each quarter. However, reserving the same room is not always possible. Each quarter we will make announcements via email and social media of where we will meet.
Be sure to email [email protected] to be added onto our mailing list.

How can i get involved?
Our organization is open to anyone no matter their major, year, and experience level. We are here to teach you everything from the rocket itself to how to present at outreach events. To get involved, be sure to attend a general or sub team meeting to get more info and leads will assign a task.
Rocket Project
How high can each rocket fly?
- Daedulus: 10,000ft.
- New Rocket Height Goal: 45,000ft.
What material is the rocket made out of?
- Body Tube: Blue Tube
- Fins: Balsa Wood
- Nosecone: Plastic
- Parachute: Nylon
How do you find the rocket after it lands?
Normally you just wait for parachute deployment (choose a bright color) and follow its direction until it lands. Then you walk in that direction till you find it. However we are implementing GPS tracking into our larger scale rockets to reduce the time required.
How many times have you launched a rocket?
3 Launches
Where do you go to launch the rockets?
Are main test launch sites are run by FAR and ROC. ROC is located about 1.5 hours from UCR at the Lucerne Dry Lake. FAR is located by Cantil, CA which is about 3 hours away.
How much does it cost to build each rocket?
Prices vary depending on the build. Since we design and build ours from scratch they are more expensive than basic solid motor kits. Our solid Rocket cost us about $5K/$6K. The Liquid is worth a lot more $30K+
How long does it take to build each rocket?
- Our 2 smaller ones took about 2 monthes each
- Daedulus: ~ 9 monthes
- Liquid: TBD
What kind of propulsion does the rocket have?
- 2 smaller scales used: Cesaroni Smokey Sams, Solid Motors
- Daedulus: Aerotech L850W, Solid Motor
- New Unnamed Rocket: Liquid Motor
How many people are on your team(s)?
The rocket team currently consists of about 34 members including the project leads.
What does a usual work day look like?
The entire rocket team meets at the previously designated location. We discuss the goals for the day and relay any needed information between the team. Then each sections splits off to accomplish the set goals. Whether it be building a part of the rocket, coding, test firing, etc.
