Wow, what an eventful week! Just to recap, over the weekend a couple of our members volunteered at SHPE’s Dia de Ciencias. We saw many bright, young faces who were ready to learn about projects and hear stories about college experiences. Seeing the students’ eagerness is what pushes us to give back to the community. We were once their age and we wouldn’t be anywhere if we didn’t have the support we have today from peers. Some members also decided to form a team spontaneously to join the BMES dodgeball tournament. Although impromptu, they made it to the semi-finals! The tournament was a great experience that not only required team work, but also strategy. Seeing all these students with like-minds come together was great team building. Lately we have been changing the order of how we run general meetings, team meetings, work days, etc. We’re trying to figure out what format works best and what doesn’t so that in the future, successors don’t have to worry about minute details but instead help further our vision.
Midterms are slowing down and rocket responsibilities are starting to pick up again. We are making progress little by little but surely. Although work days aren’t in session this week we still make an effort to come together whether it be by bonding over the project or by bonding over food because this rocket can’t build itself if there isn’t comradery.
