This past week has been a whirlwind of tasks being thrown left and right. Among midterms, everybody is almost pushed to their limit with how much they need to get done. We are striving for the finish line and it is a team effort to finish strong. There were definitely communication issues this past week and we quickly learned how important it is to keep everyone updated at all times. We were confronted with how real it is to relay messages to everyone and because of our misstep we are set back a little from our deadlines. A lesson learned and now we are making strides to prevent any more issues throughout the year. However, let’s not dwell on that, last weekend was Bourns Engineering Day! The team loves these events because it always gives us a chance to give back to the community and teach groups of kids how cool science can be. At our booth, we displayed our rockets and also had a fun bottle rocket activity. Kids designed their rocket from start to finish including fin and nose cone design. They then had the ability to see if their design was a success at the launch pad. Check out some of the fun we had: Also, some updates on our current fund raising, we hit $2000 on our GoFundMe! We are slowly but surely getting the funds we need. However, we are in definite need of everyone’s sense of urgency if we want to be able to send everyone to competition this summer. The rocket itself is a team effort but so is reaching out to people for encouragement. More fundraising events will arise throughout the quarter, so stay on the lookout for those and come out to support Aerospace Systems!
Good luck to everyone who are powering through midterms this week!
