Welcome back! Spring quarter means new responsibilities. Deadlines are quickly creeping up and every team is extremely busy. Everyone is putting in extra hours on the weekends to make our competition deadline. We’re also in the middle of position transitions, so team leads are working double time to make sure everything is in order. Good news is that our parts are coming in and we are starting as soon as possible to assemble everything. A word from our structures lead, Jenny Martinez: “We have been measuring and marking the placement of most of the rocket components like centering rings, fins, fasteners and shear pins. We have also been planning the manufacturing for the fins, which we plan to have manufactured soon. The hardest hurtle we anticipate is making the slits on the body tube for the fins and inserting the centering rings. April 23, 2017, we plan on having an early morning build day so that the majority of the rocket can be built.” Wow, sounds like we have a lot to look forward to! Can’t wait until we see the finished product. Speaking of assembling, the org assembled together on Saturday April 6 for Highlander Day. We got to meet lots of prospective students who were interested in engineering and we got to share our projects with them. Families from all over California visited our booth and it was great to connect with people who were just as enthusiastic. Also, a huge thank you to our sponsors for donating. Without your support we wouldn't be able to proceed with the project. Any amount of donation is a big help and even just sharing our link does wonders. Thank you so much in advance.
Hope everyone has a great start to their quarter!
